A haunting stillness permeates this oil-painted vision of the Chamber of Reflection, rendered in the moody vanitas style of the 17th century. Every object on the rough-hewn table whispers a truth: the skull, sacred volume, hourglass, and daily bread form a quiet liturgy of mortality and transformation. The candle burns low. The mirror reflects nothing but time and self. On the wall, the alchemical admonition V.I.T.R.I.O.L. fades like a secret that must be rediscovered.

Before the Light captures the moment just before initiation, before a man is tested, tried, and ultimately transformed. It is a meditation on solitude, decision, and the sacred silence that precedes the Light.

Framed in Ayous wood sourced from eco-conscious forests, each piece is a museum-quality matte print made with vibrant, water-based ink on archival paper. The 0.75” thick wooden frame adds a timeless touch to this deeply symbolic work.
